If it all checks out ok, our ClimateSmart electrician will adjust your hot water system temperature to 60 degrees, which is the recommended temperature for water heating to avoid wasting electricity but also keeping the water hot enough to kill any bacteria. No. Only electric hot water systems with a temperature above 60 degrees will be looked at to determine whether they can be adjusted. Other types of hot water systems are not suitable for the temperature adjustment or are not wasting energy in the first place, so won’t require the adjustment.

There are a number of factors that our ClimateSmart electrician will check to determine whether to adjust the temperature of your hot water system. These factors include:
